Storm – Training Day Out

Storm are still beasting, even though they’re just having a chilled training session. We especially enjoyed seeing Blue back again after a pretty bad injury months ago.

Tim’s also progressing a lot lately and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next, 2:20 was just beautiful.

If you watch action sports videos you probably got to watch this amazing BMX edit that RedBull dropped yesterday.
The distances Drew covers with his jumps are unbelievable, so take a look.

What we actually enjoyed a lot was the “Behind the Scenes”-video they released along to it. The way they shoot and Drew’s approach to filming and riding reminded us of ourselves and the feeling of putting together a new edit.

3 Men and 3 Women will win an all-payed trip to the comp in Santorini this year. To be one of the few selected people you have to submit your video to Red Bull, following very specific rules.

Timing Online Qualifier

Start: 17 June 2013
End: 31 July 2013

Rules and how to participate in the Red Bull Art of Motion Online Qualifier

Video guidelines
· Length: No longer than 1 minute 30 seconds
· Focus on the runner
· Only one person preforming
· Has to be filmed outdoors
· No chrash pads allowed
· Show the landings / All landings must be visible
· You are only allowed to send one video
· Age 16+ (under 18 parental consent)
NOTE: For this, is has to be clearly stated in the website that if a person at the age of 16-18 is selected for a spot at the event (as a result of the online qualifier), he/she will have to be able to provide a signed disclaimer (by him/her AND his/her parents), stamped for originality by a relevant authority, in order to be finally allowed in the event. No exceptions will be made.
· The official Red Bull Art of Motion judges will select the 3 best male and 3 best female videos from the Online Qualifier, who will get a direct invitation to Red Bull Art of Motion in Santorini.
· Name and face of participant must be visible in video

Judging Criteria
Judges will not look for the highest drop or the craziest move. They will look for a clean style and an original way of moving. We’d like to see combinations of moves that are well put together. We will not judge the editorial skills on the video we are only interested in your freerunning skills.

Judging Criteria Detail
- Execution: Show that you have control of your movements. Safe landings are very important to the judges.
- Flow: combinations, nicely planned lines and continuous movement will be rewarded
- Technical difficulty
- Creativity: Use your body and your surroundings in a creative way.

Mirrors Edge Sequel on it’s way!

EA just revealed that they’ve been working on a sequel to Mirror’s Edge – one of the first games to use Freerunning – and released this trailer to go along with it.

The graphics look amazing and we can expect the Freerunning to be as solid and intuitive as in the first part. Bring it on!

Art of Motion Santorini RETURNS

Red Bull dropped the bomb today:
The Art of Motion Santorini is happening on September 14th. If you don’t know what that is, you must be new to this, click here and and watch our video from last year:

Aight, so outside of the epic spots, girls in bikinis and the top athletes showing up, what’s exciting about this year?

A total of 18 athletes are going to compete, which include the top 8 from last year, 6 online-qualifiers, 4 through on-location qualifiers.

We really like how Red Bull opens the game to up-and-comers through the online qualifiers. Definitely keep your eyes open on the 17th of June, when they release what kind of video they are looking for. They also mentioned a camp prior to the event, we are excited what this is about, but it sounds like a fun time for everybody involved.

No1 is Showtime from Tempest doing this beastly Freerunning/Trampoline Combo. If you go to Tempest and stick you can get your band :)

Numero dos is this scary bail, thank god that guy walked away from it with just a little bruise.

And last but not least we have this crazy motherfucker aka the luckiest man on earth. This could’ve went wrong in 100 different ways but it turned out ALL GOOD.

On another note, he got mad height from that windshield pop, It might become a new thing.

Dream Spots: Keelung

Keelung is a city in Taiwan in which somewhere you can find this abandoned housing complex.
The reasons for it being abandoned are unknown and the nature is slowly taking it back.

All the levels and balconies look amazing for Freerunning, we’d love to jump on a plane and session there.
